F**K, F**K, F**KING BOLLOCKS… F**K!

Well, the worst thing that you can imagine happening to an author, has gone and happened… My laptop decided to develop behavioural issues, gradually getting worse over a period of days. In the end, I lost my temper (which is so unlike me! 😉 ) and proceeded to punch it until it took on the appearance of a strange platter dish that you would only expect to find at a nerdy computer geek convention. I felt quite satisfied with myself, Continue Reading...

HOW TO SURVIVE THE APOCALYPSE…

Surviving the apocalypse is a very popular theme these days. Everyone seems to ask the question…‘what if?’ Whether this question is driven by forward thinking and necessity, or just out of a great (if not a little morbid) desire to see the end of the world, it cannot be denied that the subject is being considered, even fleetingly, by almost every human being on the planet. There are people from all walks of life, across the world, who are carrying Continue Reading...

Where’s the Fear?

Is it just me, or is anybody else struggling to get into the Walking Dead spinoff, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’? I watched the first season and thought that it had some potential. I liked the way that it covered the gradual decline of human civilisation, although it was a little too much like we were viewing this global disaster from a goldfish bowl. But still, it was better than the viewer being thrown into the thick of it, without experiencing Continue Reading...

GOODNIGHT GEORGE

This may be a little on the late side, but I have been indisposed with other issues lately. However, I could not go through the rest of my life without having said goodbye to the Godfather of the modern zombie genre. George A. Romero was the pioneer of the flesh-eating ghoul movies. He re-energised a movie monster who, until Night of the Living Dead, was nothing more than a mindless slave, carrying out the biddings of its evil master. Zombies Continue Reading...

Call me Hannibal

Last night I found myself completely enthralled with a documentary on More4… Psychopath Night. I’ve read and watched plenty on psychopathy and its case studies, but last night’s programme was different from the others. It went a little deeper, and as well as the usual scrutiny of serial killers and their psyche, it also broached the subject that very few people know about; There are a lot of psychopaths in the world, and many of them aren’t running about, slashing women in the shower and Continue Reading...

JEBUS IS A ZOMBIE

Today we celebrate the most important day in the Christian calendar; the day that Jesus became one of the undead. If the story was about anyone else, it would be listed under ‘Horror’, but because it was about a man who was considered the son of God, an entire religion and culture grew around him and his teachings, and the book became the best seller of all time. The Bible is filled with references to the dead rising, and even its lead character ends Continue Reading...

THE WALKING DEAD BARBARIANISM!

Who remembers my previous rant about the sexual frustrations I was experiencing in regards to Daryl and Carol (up a tree…K-I-S-S-I-N-G) not getting it on when both of them clearly want, neeeed to? Well, you may also remember that I compared the people living in a post-apocalyptic world to the Barbarians who sacked Rome; fighting and fucking on a scale that could only be matched by the average Saturday night at the Trafalgar Inn in Aldershot during the days when it was home to The Parachute Regiment (Airborne!). Well, last Continue Reading...

Let’s get it on!

For the love of all that is holy… When will Daryl just grab hold of Carol and Marvin Gaye it? The sexual tension between them has been simmering, ready to erupt (pardon the pun) into a boiling deluge of passion since the second series, or sometime around then. By the time the gang were holed up in the prison in the third season, the pair of them were tearing at each other’s clothes, at least in their dreams. Carol has dropped Continue Reading...

A New Series

The second half of season seven of ‘The Walking Dead’ is fast approaching (is it the 20th Feb?), and my new book is underway, with me now once again having the bug for writing, well and truly under my skin. So it is good news all around, I guess. My main hope for the future, apart from my upcoming series of books to be received as well as the first two, is that Rick Grimes is finally going to grow a Continue Reading...

Outbreak – Hinter den Linien: Endzeit

Had some outstanding news today. The German translation for ‘The Dead Walk the Earth’ has been completed and is now available on Kindle. I’d imagine that the paperback edition will be soon to follow. The name has been changed for the German market, and now translates as ‘Outbreak: Behind the Lines’. And in my opinion, the cover is awesome! A proud day, if I do say so myself, as my stories are now breaking language barriers, and I am hoping Continue Reading...
